The Carpenter Level 2 role is the lynchpin of the Carpentry team and the Tectonic brand. They have a comprehensive carpentry skill set necessary to execute a project from start to finish while mentoring those still growing in these skills and serving as a thought partner to the Lead Carpenter. They level up the quality of work that the Tectonic team is able to accomplish.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute interior and exterior carpentry from framing to finish, including but not limited to: Demolition, framing, installing windows & doors, installing wood and cement-based exterior siding and trim, installing flooring and interior trim packages, including interior doors, baseboards, casing, crown molding, closet packages, etc., installing cabinetry packages, including kitchen, bathrooms, and custom built-ins.
  • Read blueprints
  • Work in conjunction with the Lead Carpenter in assessing job site needs, developing an execution strategy, as well as troubleshooting issues that arise
  • Mentor Apprentice(s) and Carpenter Level 1(s) on skill development
  • Ensure work meets the Tectonic Standard of Quality 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including diverse skill sets in remodeling and new home residential construction.
  • Proficiency in the above-mentioned carpentry techniques, methods of installation, and construction systems.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools and hand tools such as a table saw, miter saw, track saw, planer, and router.
  • Demonstrate safe working habits and knowledge of safety rules and instructions while performing job functions.
  • Follow the direction of supervisors, while also thinking critically and independently about job site needs (i.e., cleaning up when not asked; noting low inventory; re-measuring; etc.).
  • Advanced construction math competency.
  • Meticulous and methodical approach to production.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Technologically literate, including but not limited to: 
  • Familiarity with Google Suite: Gmail, Cal, Drive, Docs, Chat
  • Familiarity with BuilderTrend

Salary and Benefits
